Stepped case Tank Ref 15716 : 15716

A fine and rare Cartier stepped case Jumbo “New York” ref 15716.
There were three versions of the stepped case Jumbo made in the early 1970’s; New York, London and Paris. This model is the rarest, produced for and sold at the New York boutique. The case is brass with a 14k gold plate finish. The New York watches had a screw on case back held in place with 4 screws, along with a punched Cartier logo (London and Paris were engraved). Look for a serial number starting with 12 and followed by 02***. The crown on the New York models a is an elongated cabochon spinnel. A huge watch for the time, measuring 38mm (lug length) by 28mm (case width), white dial with Roman numerals. Presented on a black strap with correct pin buckle.
The watch has formed part of a collection from a client we have been working with over the last few years. It is in excellent original condition. If you like early oversized Cartier, then this is for you.
