1987 Submariner 168000 : 168000

A fine and rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner-Date, model reference 168000, the ‘Triple O’.
This transitional model was only in production for 8-9 months. This reference followed on from the 16800 and preceded the 16610. It was the first Submariner to be produced in 904L steel (replaced 316L steel) and the last to be delivered with the 3035 movement.
This R4***** serial number and L7 (July 1987) clasp code dates the watch to 1987. Unusually the certificate is country code 748, which is unlisted but thought to be somewhere in the Caribean.
This Submariner is delivered with Rolex boxes, Submariner booklet and the punched warranty/COSC chronometer certificate.
The watch was previously retailed by ‘The Watch Club’ in London W1, as confirmed by their sales invoice.
